Mando America Corp. announced plans last week for a $19 million expansion to its North American headquarters in Opelika, a move that would create an additional 32 jobs.
Since moving the location of its North American headquarters from Detroit to Opelika in 2003, the South Korean company has been regularly producing automotive parts for companies like Hyundai since the mid-2000’s. Mando produces brake, suspension and steering components at the Opelika location.
The Opelika City Council granted the company a 15 year exemption from city ad valorem taxes. The new expansion will bring Mando’s total investment in Opelika to $220 million.
