Mike Baker

Managing Director

Mike joined HMA in 2019 and focuses on leading Harbert's investment sales efforts. Mike has a background on both the principal and brokerage side of the business, having been involved in over $1.5 billion in commercial real estate transactions. Before HMA, Mike was with Capstone Collegiate Communities, a nationally renowned developer of student housing. Before Capstone, Mike was with Lennar Multifamily Communities, one of the largest multifamily developers in the country. Mike has also worked at Walker & Dunlop in their mortgage banking business. He graduated from Washington & Lee University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and from the University of North Carolina with a Master in Business Administration. Mike, a native of Birmingham, and his wife Laura have three kids, James, Caroline and Charlie.


Donald Gambril


Donald joined HMA in 2013, and since that time has been involved in transactions across the Southeast including Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Georgia. As Director, his primary focus is on investment sales and working closely with clients and investors to manage transactions from source to close. Donald graduated from the University of Alabama with both a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Finance and a Masters of Business Administration. He volunteers as a youth football coach for the Mtn. Brook Rec League. Donald is a native of Birmingham, and he and his wife, Sarah, have a daughter, Ruth, and a son, Lee.


Kim V Washington

Marketing Director

Kim joined HMA in 2017 and manages all aspects of HMA's brand including marketing materials, web design, and marketing strategy. Prior to joining HMA, she graduated from the Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. Kim is a Birmingham native and lives in the area with her husband Chris and their daughter Nadia.


Bishop Escue


Bishop joined HMA in 2022, shortly after graduating from the University of Alabama. While attending the university, he received both a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Finance and a Masters of Business Administration. Prior work experience includes an internship in the commercial loan department of ServisFirst Bank, as well as an internship with a local real estate developer. Bishop is a Birmingham native, along with his four siblings and parents.
