The space continues to fill up at the Station 121 development at the corner of Second Avenue South and 20th Street in downtown Birmingham.

The newest tenants are two local companies with popular followings.

Salon U and raw juice bar Sprout and Pour are planning a collaboration in a 2,444-square-foot space, according to Bayer Properties’ Krista Wood.

Salon U owner Issam Bajalia says they’re hoping to open by the end of November.

“Our new location will be a collaboration. There will be a juice bar from Sprout and Pour that is available exclusively for Salon U customers while they are in our store,” Bajalia said. Sprout and Pour juices and natural foods will be offered in its space. The BBJ has attempted to contact Sprout and Pour owners for more details.

Bajalia said the new Station 121 spot will differ from the Salon U location in Homewood because it will feature an exclusive area for men that will have a barbershop, hot shaves and possibly a bourbon bar. He said there will be 11 new hires to staff the salon.

This will be the third location for Salon U, in addition to Homewood and its Nashville store, called Style Kitchen.

Bajalia said his company has grown rapidly in recent years after gaining the title “Top salon in Alabama” from Elle Magazine multiple times. The Homewood salon has expanded to two floors and had to hire an outside call center to handle appointments.

We recently reported that Glory Bound Gyro Co. opened in the 3,962-square-foot north end cap of Station 121.
