Three companies in north Alabama are poised to invest $139 million thereby creating 265 new jobs.
AL.com reports Wolverine Tube, United Launch Alliance and Dynetics submitted business proposals to receive approval of noneducational tax abatements from the Decatur Industrial Development Board in Morgan County.
Wolverine Tube plans to build and operate an integrated aluminum manufacturing facility, which would combine its aluminum extrusion operations, friction stir welding and heavy machining operations at its existing facilities into one. The $16 million investment project should begin this month and create 250 jobs within three years. Annual payroll is estimated at $10.3 million before benefits.
